New Plymouth Girls' High School Library is a critical part of the school's curriculum. The library has a large collection of fiction, non-fiction and reference materials. This includes the latest fiction as well as classic novels, biographies, short stories, poems, atlases, multi-media resources, DVDs and includes some texts in other languages such as Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai and French. Students are able to access databases to which the library subscribes, also links to educational websites and blogs. The library provides access to a New Zealand wide collection through the National Library and School Library services.
To keep up with the electronic revolution, the library has been supplied with 27 computers and over 40 laptops which have internet connectivity through the schools Wi-Fi. Girls can use them during class, interval, lunch, before and after school. Year 12 and 13 students can even take the laptops home over night or for the weekend.
The school's Wi-Fi can be used on the girl's own devices in hotspots around the school.
We are open Monday - Friday Before school, interval, lunch-time and after school 7.45am - 4.15pm
